Introduction to Ziran Qigong

Qigong 气功 is a treasured ancient Chinese practice of healing and energy medicine. It is the art and science of combining mindful intent, breathing techniques, gentle movements and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, circulate and harmonize your energy system as well as the physical body.

This practice is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Active Qigong involves mindful fluid movements synchronized to mindful deep rhythmic breath. Stillness Qigong involves meditation – standing, sitting or laying.

Ziran Qigong 自然气功 is a system of Qigong practice as well as philosophy originated from the Ziranmen自然们 lineage and further refined and developed by Master Liu Deming, the 5th lineage holder of the Ziranmen. Master Liu began his study of Ziran Kung Fu and Qigong in his teens. He has been teaching Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qigong for 30 years and is a highly sought after teacher internationally.

Abby Lee is a 6th generation disciple of Master Liu Deming and a master instructor in the Ziran Qigong. She has been training with Master Liu for over 12 years and began teaching Qigong in 2009.

In this workshop you will learn the principle and foundation of Qigong practise and the basics of Ziran Qigong system. This includes gentle movements, breathing exercises and meditation.

Regular Qigong practise helps you improve your:

New Moon Sound Meditation

New moon is a wonderful time to be still and contemplate on the desires of your heart and yearnings of your soul. It’s a time to plant new seeds or replenish the soil of the garden of your dreams and goals.

Join us and delve deep on this Scorpio new moon for a mini new moon ritual followed by a deeply relaxing and nurturing sound meditation. In this deep peaceful state you can let your intentions be gently impressed upon your sub-conscious mind, to be followed by your conscious actions. Together, your dreams and goals can be supercharged.

Imagine letting the soothing and healing sound of crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, Tibetan gong, melodic chimes, Burmese pagoda bells, medicine drums and more take you on a journey of deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Allow the vibration of these harmonious sounds wash through your body and mind to help release any tensions or blockages, restore your balance and harmony, renew your vitality and serenity. Walk lightly away after the session feeling relaxed, re-centered and re-energised.

A recent participant John Vardis described his first experience of our New Moon Sound Meditation last month:

“Each sound resonated within a different part of my body. It’s hard to explain, it was like a burst of water out of a shower head aimed at different parts of the body and vibrating into each chakra and the three dantians (for Qigong/Tai Chi practitioners)……. The sounds kept my mind focused and was aware of every feeling going through my body. I finished feeling peaceful, a feeling that stayed with me for a few days after. Qigong Immersion Workshop

An afternoon of immersion in Qigong!

This workshop is for those who would like more than the weekly 1.5 hours class. Take your time to understand the foundation practises of Qigong, deepen your own practise through guided mindful movements, various breathing techniques and meditation.

Learn to be more aware of your body and your Qi flow, and be mindful of your movements and breathing. It is through awareness and mindfulness that we begin to heal ourselves, attain better health & wellbeing, and peace of mind.

A wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon disengage from the world’s demands, de-stress from the week’s busyness and regain your centre and recharge your energy.

This workshop is for people with a little experience in Qigong. If you’re absolutely new to Qigong, come along to the free introduction workshop the week earlier (see above) to prepare yourself for this immersion. Contact us if you have any questions about this workshop.
